Spiritual Growth

All our ministries and activities are opportunities for spiritual growth, but in addition to our regular activities we occasionally off special services and groups specifically designed to further the spiritual health of our community. Check this page for updates concerning these special opportunities.

Lenten "Soup and Study"

During the season of Lent Oneida First will offer a Lenten book study for women. We will gather together every Thursday of Lent to break bread together and discuss two chapters of Joanna Weaver’s Book “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World”. All are welcome!

"Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, ‘Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me.’ But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.’" Luke 10:38-41

Is your life busy? Do you ever find it hard to connect to God in the midst of your whirlwind life? If your answer is yes, then perhaps this is a study for you. In January of 2011 we will offer a small group bible study for women centered around Joanna Weaver’s book “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World”. If you are interested please see Pastor Colleen.

Summer Camp: Fabulous Fun For Everyone!

One of the most powerful influence in growing the faith of children and youth in our conference is summer camp.  Impact the life of a child or youth in your family: send them to camp!

Oneida First will pay for half of any child or youth who registers at Casowasco or Aldersgate this year.  In special situations, the church will pay more. For personal testimony and more information about Casowasco and Aldersgate see Pastor Colleen.
